The USS Patterson Website is a site dedicated to US Navy Destroyers and the men
that served on them in World War II. You will see many pictures and
information on the USS Patterson, the destroyer that my dad Robert Austin Coburn, Sr.
served on from March 1944 until 1946. He volunteered for the Navy in November 1943
and went to training in San Diego, Ca. The Patterson came in from the Pacific in
1943 to have her bow repaired after a collision with the USS MCCALLA DD-488. After
the repairs dad shipped out on the Patterson in March 1944 headed for the Pacific.
